We didn't have mail delivery on Saturday and I really need to get mail out. I tried calling the branch that services my area but the line has been busy all morning.

Does anyone know whether mail delivery will resume today? Mon 2/1/10.

I got mail Saturday.
I expect it today, but live near the center of Cary, where the streets may be better than yours.

Default Problem solved!

Okay, so after reading posts from MikeJaquish and DownEastB that they received mail in Cary and Durham, I got to feeling a little left out that I didn't get any mail in N. Raleigh. I got my newspapers delivered by 7am just fine, but no mail on Saturday.

I finally got through to the local branch and when I asked whether there would be mail delivery today I was answered with a very enthusiastic "YES, MA'AM!". "Haven't you ever heard of ...through rain, sleet, snow, etc."? I told him I didn't get any mail Saturday and he said "well someone in your neighborhood got mail. Just not you."

I used to live in Minnesnowta and it was sometimes declared (albeit rarely) that no mail delivery would occur due to severe weather. I was certain that this weekend fell into that same severe weather catagory.

No one can say we are weather-whimps out here

I think it takes a lot more weather than we got on Saturday to stop the mail - my sister is a mail carrier up in NY, and I know she's gone out in some pretty crazy snow to deliver (and got stuck for 2 hours on a highway entrance ramp in her little mail Jeep!).

The real question is - will my UPS package show up today? It is showing as "exception" on the UPS website, means "an unforeseen event has occured which could result in a change to the Scheduled Delivery Date." Only time will tell!

The mailman came to our house today at 9:30. He normally comes late in the afternoon. We also received mail on Saturday.

I live in Cary and didn't get mail Saturday. I seriously doubt the mail truck could navigate my subdivision even today - it's a big sheet of ice.
