I'm trying to decide between the two and need input!!

Does anyone know about their classes, clientele, cleanliness, friendliness? Golds is closer but I have friends that go to Lifestyle.

In my opinion, Lifesyles is the place to go. I had a membership at Golds and it was a bunch of muscleheads and seems like a different staff all the time. Lifestyles has programs I enjoy, nice clubs, and pricing seems to be the same.

I have belonged to Gold's for a decade and usually use the Six Forks (Celebration) club. Management is a revolving door there (maybe it is in that whole industry, I dunno) and while my requirements are very minimal since I mostly just use cardio and basic weights, and it is fine for me, I know people who have left Gold's because the club is not maintained very well--machines break and stay that way forever (and they don't even put "out of order" signs on them sometimes--apparently they don't like to have signs there when they are showing new people the club), the locker rooms are pretty neglected (there are empty lockers that have had lockes on them for YEARS--nobody has ever cut them off despite a sign saying they do nightly). but, it's close by, I'm used to it, and I actually prefer the older weight machines they have there, compared to newer ones at newer clubs. Also, perhaps because the entrance is around the back of a shopping center, cars have been broken into more than once just in the past year.

On the plus side, they DID just renovate the workout floor and the room they use for classes, and there are always classes going on that seem to be popular. Most of the personal trainers there have been there for a long time, which is a good sign. I go in the mornings and it's not crowded. And, I do like that I can use any Gold's in the area and have started using Pleasant Valley (the newest one) more and more. Never did like North Hills; that place has had attitude from the start and the lockers are a very weird shape that's hard to fit your gym bag into.
