Nice to see the area on another good list, but I have to say that is a very poorly written article. Let's see...most of the job growth they discussed in the region is from RTP, most of which is in Durham, not Raleigh. They referred to my alma mater as "Carolina State" They used Raleigh and RTP almost interchangeably, yet showed population statistics for only Raleigh. Interesting way to show the high/low avg temps, too. Normally they show an average high/low for summer and winter, not an high temp which is well above the average high in August and a low temp which is not as low as the average low in January.
Quelle Surprise that a national magazine writer who's (quite obviously) never set foot here would get the facts wrong, especially in a "Best of...!" article!!
