Lake Johnson? Maybe the deck at Lake Wheeler if you'll wear casual dress - I always love water as the backdrop.
The grounds of Duke Chapel come out really well in photos. There is an open walkway from the chapel to the next building, my friend's photos taken there looked awesome! You'll need to get permission from the event coordinator to be sure you don't conflict with a wedding or event. It's booked most weekends. But you could find a window of time that would work between weddings.
unc botanical gardens. we do ours there every year, it's been great to see the change of perspective against the chess board every year. The colors are great, lots of texture, excellent lighting (there's shade and sun) plus it smells great- especially in the herb garden!
Hundreds of prom couples & the parents meet outside of Preston Club house for picture taking this time every year! The gardens are lush, the outside of club house has lots of character & there are green rolling hills with the golf course in the background!
