I'm a budget minded person and I like to find bargains when I shop. I shop at certain stores. I was wondering if Clayton has these different stores:
1) Super wal-mart
2) Family Dollar
3) Dollar Tree
4) Dollar General
5) Big Lots/ Odd Lots
6) Ross
7) TJ Maxx
8) Burlington Coat Factory
Are the stores located with in one proximity or spread out? Do you have a mall or how far is it? Town flea market that sells new items? What type of restaurants do you have? Fast food chains? Entertainment? (Bowling, movies, video arcades) Is there a small town with shops and cafe's?

Hmm...I'm still very new to the area. But, we do have a Super Walmart and Dollar Tree. I've seen some of the other stores, Ross, Burlington Coat factory but not in Clayton. From Clayton, we can be at any of the big stores within 30 minutes. I'd say the mall is that far too. We are still finding our favorite shopping centers.

Clayton itself has Super Walmart, Family Dollar, Dollar Tree and another type of dollar store- maybe it is Dollar General. Big Lots is in Smithfield- about 10 minutes away. Ross and TJ Maxx are in White Oaks about 15 minutes away. Sorry can not help you with the Burlington Coat Factory.
The nearest Flea Market I believe is at the State Fair grounds on weekends. Triangle Town Center in my opinion is the best shopping area/mall with the biggest variety either right in the mall or within the perimeter of the mall and that is about 30 minutes away. Crabtree and North Hills are also options but stores are a bit more upscale. There is also a lot of shopping in Smithfield at the outlets or on Broadleaf BLVD. For fast food, there is everything you could want except Chic Filet which is either is Garner or Smithfield. There is a bowling alley in town as well as rollerskating place. Movies are either in Smithfield or White Oaks. Clayton has a quaint downtown area with some shops and a few small restaurants. I can make due with what is available in CLayton but do find myself at White oaks in Garner alot because BJ's and Target is there as well as Dicks's sporting goods and Best Buy.

There is a Burlington COat Factory and it is on Capital Blvd (Rt.1) in Raleigh. In Smithfield, it is BRIGHTleaf Blvd, and there are lots of great stores at the Factory Outlets. There are some great little stores up at 40/42 as well (aka Cleveland Community). They actually have a great bakery and coffee shop up there, Lowes Home Improvement, Food Lion, fast food places, Smithfield BBQ and White Swan BBQ. Its all just 10 minutes from downtown Clayton. There are very nice subdivisions in that area too, you might look in that direction if you're thinking Clayton. From that area you are still just 10-15 minutes from bowling, rollerskating, movies, White Oak Shopping Center, etc.

1) Super wal-mart - Yes, off of Hwy 70 in Clayton
2) Family Dollar-Yes, off of Hwy 70 in Clayton (near Lowe's Food)
3) Dollar Tree-Yes, same shopping center as Walmart
4) Dollar General-Wait, maybe its a Dollar general I'm thinking about instead of Family dollar...it's one of those. There's also one near Cobblestone in the shopping center with Burger King, Wendy's, Pizza Hut, etc.
5) Big Lots/ Odd Lots-There is one in Holly Springs, one in Raleigh off of Glenwood Avenue (same shopping center as Walmart)
6) Ross-Yes, off of Hwy 70 except in Garner
7) TJ Maxx-Yes, off of Hwy 70 except in Garner (same shopping center as TJ Maxx)
8) Burlington Coat Factory - in Raleigh off of Capital Blvd and there's one in Cary near Crossroads Plaza (great shopping there!)

Are the stores located with in one proximity or spread out? Well, hwy 70 is one long stretch of hwy. Clayton is at one end, Garner is at the other. You can get alot of shopping done just by driving up & down. From the Walmart in Clayton to the Target in Garner, it's about a 10 minute drive. I took a few pictures of the shopping centers, its in one of these posts floating around.
Do you have a mall or how far is it? Triangle Towne Center in Raleigh is about a 20 minute drive away. There's also Crabtree Valley mall in Raleigh and a mall in Cary that has Crossroads shopping center (Old Navy, Bed Bath & beyond, etc) down the street.
Town flea market that sells new items? Raleigh has a great flea market at the fairgrounds on the weekends.
What type of restaurants do you have? Everything from pure southern food (smithfields, McCalls) to Mexican (theres one in the shopping center at Walmart that's really good to Italian (no clue where it is, but I did hear we do have one). You can also take Hwy 70 down through Garner and into downtown Raleigh. Lots of great restaurants, live music, clubs, bars, etc. Fast food chains? Yep! Burger King, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Hardees, Dairy Queen, Wendy's, Taco Bell, KFC, etc.
Entertainment? (Bowling, movies, video arcades) We have a bowling alley and a roller skating rink literally side by side.
Rainbow Lanes

We dont have an actual movie theater in Clayton, but there is one in the same shopping center as Target in Garner, just off of Hwy 70 (about 10-15 minutes away). We also have an indoor go-cart place too! In the Walmart shopping center, there's a wonderful drop off center for Kids called "Screaming Mimi's", they are awesome. Next door to that, is a pottery camp place.
Is there a small town with shops and cafe's? I think downtown Clayton has some. I found the absolute best place to go for this is around the coast. Wilmington has a really cute strip of shops so does Beaufort (outer banks). My absolute favorite is barefoot landing and broadway at the beach in Myrtle Beach. More in the Triangle, downtown Raleigh has some at Moore's square. Actually, they are all over the triangle. So yes, we do!

Hope that helps!

It is near there. Take the exit for 95/96/301 off of highway 70. Instead of turning right onto Brightlead BLVD (also 301), go straight towards the exit for 95 (another couple of lights). It will be on the right I believe. I have never been in there but I have passed by it.
