My stepdaughter wants to get married in Rapid City, in a park, however she's having a hard time finding one that is pretty.

Do any of you have any ideas?

and yea, she ruled out Canyon Lake.

Chapel in the Hills has a lot of trees. She could also get married in just about any city park. FYI, Canyon Lake Park has a lot of trees. There's an arboretum off Jackson Boulevard too. A lot of people take wedding pictures by Old Storybook Island too. There are a lot of trees along Rapid Creek.

I have a relative that got married in the Chapel in the Hills. Very Nice. I was also at a wedding in Spearfish Canyon at the resort. It was outdoor, by a little creek. Very pretty setting.

Chapel in the Hills would be my vote. Its as close as perfect setting as I can think of for a marriage ceremony to take place.

Is she dead set on Rapid? We went to a wedding in Spearfish at the Booth Fish Hatchery...in the backyard of the historic Booth House. Beautiful setting! The reception was held across the street at the Spearfish City campground in a building call Snappers. It's a large rustic looking cabin and was perfect for a small wedding reception/dance. Although I do think the dance had to be over by quiet time in the campground. Anyhoo...I would highly recommend it.

If she's not against having it near RC, how about The Lodge in Deadwood? It's a new hotel/casino/event center in the hills. It's got a rustic look and feel but it's comfortable and has a lot of room. Everyone can go play in Deadwood afterward.

Like Danny and several others. I too recommend Stav Kirk.
