Not in MD your license has to be hung with a real estate company

An excellent real-estate virtual assistant charges between $75-$150 an hour, other assistants charge between $40-$55 an hour.

Geez, that better be one good virtual assistant for that price. That's more than I make an hour as an agent.

there is no way I would pay a personal virtual assistant 75 to 100 an hour. An office manager who is responsible of running the office totally does not make that. 25 would be my top pay.

Seriously, yeah I want that job. I am licensed though inactive at the moment. I have no real estate work experience beyond buying my own home and being a landlord. Had been looking at becoming admin staff at an RE office, I do have plenty of admin experience just in the financial industry not the real estate industry. But they all want 3 years experience, a license, for all of $10 an hour. No thank you. I make more then that in my two part time merchandising jobs.

Still looking into getting my foot in a door, preferring the direction of property management though getting in anywhere without anything but personal experience is difficult.

But really, $75 an hour? Would LOVE to know where that number came from.

Best assistant's we've ever hired are former agents with escrowed licenses. The best training you could ever get. Pay for pre-licensing school, pass the test, and escrow your license.

What does escrow your license mean?

Not certain what your state calls a person who has completed all the necessary education and exams, but is not currently licensed, but in Kentucky, we say that person is holding their license in escrow. It simply means, even thought they may have been licensed, they are not active licensees, but can become licensed quickly.

OK here in FL we are licensed but voluntarily inactive. That is what I am. Its a small fee and a form and to pick a broker to be active. I can activate and "hang" my license with a broker for the purpose of sending them referrals without actually selling myself. Probably has to be active to work as an assistant too if any of the work of an agent would be expected in the job.
