“The vast majority of people I work with in this business are wonderful folks,” Jaquish said. “I just have a hard place in my heart for shenanigans that mislead consumers.”
Brad & I go waaaaay back. It's always nice to be recognized for being intelligent & thoughtful versus the sheep that regurgitate myths.
Anyway - do you have an idea why this Ramsey thing became an issue?
Ramsey deciding not to work with EXP agents, and EXP growing so fast, got it tons of attention.
And, the only rationale it appears is that he doesn't like the amount of focus on recruiting at EXP.
Which hardly makes sense if he still works with KW agents, methinks.
As greedy as Dave Ramsey is, he cost himself a lot of money with the decision, so he must feel significant animus, it would seem.
Still haven't read the article, but that never stops us from commenting, right?
We were with eXp briefly, maybe a year... and we were certainly recruited there from KW by an agent who left and did many facebook videos talking about the better split and lower caps at eXp.
We got a great deal because we had just capped at KW and we were able to move over to eXp already capped for the remainder of that year. Hard to turn that down.
That said... recruitment was not a thing we were into and we weren't encouraged or inclined to recruit. We went purely for the lower cap and better split.
We left because our former KW DB left KW and hung his own shingle, offering us an even better deal through him.
We don't really travel in the mega-agent circles, and we don't buy leads or coaching, so I don't think this is a battle we really understand - it's not our fight.

The crappy behavior in brokerage and lending should be everyones' "battle to fight," IMO. Bad behavior becomes a hurdle to overcome. So, as a HUGE believer in transparency, integrity, and work ethic, I squawked on the Inman article, and the Jim Dalrymple contacted me to see if he could chat with me.
It was a good conversation. He is a good interviewer.
I never forget the conversation with a lender, how he got clients and leads for clients.
"That sounds really crappy!"
"Yeah. But, it works."
Too much of that philosophy in the real estate/lending business.
Jeeeeeeeze....

Sure... but I haven't personally been witness to any "crappy behavior" by anyone at eXp - and without being able to see the article... I don't even know what is being alleged there, nor do I know a thing about "Ramsey" or referral programs, because we've never participated in them. So... I don't have much to say. I am just happy to know an apparent celebrity.
