I just closed on a condo yesterday. Although I am an older person, I had always been a renter.

Since last year when I found City-Data, I've learned so much by reading these threads, and all the information really helped me get through.

Thank you to everyone who answered questions, mine or otherwise, that contributed toward my knowledge base. I believe it really made a difference.

Congrats! I assume that you got a good deal, and the place you will call home will make you feel more secure and less subject to the whims of landlords, all-in-all that really does matter!

Good Luck!

Thank you. I did get a good deal--at least I think so. Had a week of disaster after the appraisal came in low--exactly at the price I had originally offered and the sellers had turned down. In the end, they agreed to the lower price. They are this cute little elderly Korean couple who apparently detest each other but won't divorce for cultural reasons and couldn't wait to part company--she is moving in with her sister and he with their son.
