I'm about to close on my first house next week and the survey was just completed yesterday. Will I receive some kind of "report" from the surveyor, like a map or blueprint type drawing?

Also, I expected there to be stakes or markers put on the corners of the property, but I didn't see any when I looked today. Aren't those standard? I'm extra curious about this as it appears that a fence does not follow what you'd expect to be the property line.

Thanks for any information!

Sometimes they are just flags in the corners very low to the ground that could be hard to spot.

We usually get legal paper sized printouts, or even PDF files for surveys, particularly since I am in tract-built subdivision territory. If a plot is older, and presents a difficult or complicated survey, you may get a larger print.
It may take the surveyor a few days to produce it from the field work.

You may see colored ribbons, or small flags. Commonly, they will mark the spot of corners, or radii turns.
Sometimes, if the corner is in pavement, you may only see a nail driven into the pavement, through a ribbon, to mark that spot.
If the property was surveyed before, the surveyor may only need to mark existing markers. They are usually "EIP" "Existing Iron Pipe" on the survey print.

Thank you both very much. I'll ask tomorrow and see if the report is ready.
