I have watched this one home in my neighborhood go from $419,000 in May all the way down to $326,000 and each time it went down I'd say to myself,"that's got to go now, that seem to be a good deal?!" but guess what it's still here!!! Even some of the smaller homes are around $290,000 and there not moving, nothing is moving. The last 2 home here that was sold one was $399,000 and another one a bit smaller and a rental went for $360,000, so where is that "magic" number? Now we have a million dollar home for sale can't wait to see how low they go, hopefully by the time I sell I could buy it.

I bet you most of those homes were in the 200's back 7-9 years ago...

Not necessarily 9, but could be close to those levels before things really start to stabilize in your market. As you can see, when the person was starting at 419K, they were just being pigs. Now finally reality is starting to kick in.

I'd be curious to see if you picked out a couple houses in your subdivision and see what the history is...

Don't know about that - but you are probably headed to prices that are affordable for the demographic of your neighbourhood.

I was talking to my hubby's grandmother yesterday, she said a house smaller then hers (3 bed/2 bath) went for $600,000 (FL). Guess there are still markets that are desirable.
