Does the property have a new MLS number, or was the listing renewed? In the MLS that I belong to, you can deactivate a listing, but it will have the same MLS number when you reactivate it. The only time the MLS number will change is when the property expires and is relisted with an entirely new contract (not a renewal). This will bring the 'days on market' back to zero (helpful for those folks who use zillow/trulia-type sites to get their real estate information from). Anyone who really knows the market will recognize the address and attributes of listing like this.
For buyers, realtors, brokers, etc who look at new listings daily, they will see your house show up today. Doesn't matter if it's a re-listed house. People have short memories.
People just looked at your listing, which would not have happened if you didn't re-list it.
