My one Son manages a 21 story luxury condo and no non resident gets by the security guard at the front desk. In addition, the people coming in need an electronic key to even get to the lobby area. I have gone to visit him and I first have to get through the guard at the driveway entrance gate and then the one at the front desk.
How is yours setup ? What do residents have to do to enter ?
The only thing residents need to have is an electronic key. Either that, or someone can buzz them in. We have no guards of any kind.
It's not exactly a luxury condo, but it's pretty upscale and yet it's the only building that I know of in the neighborhood without a front desk or any kind of security guard.

I don't understand. How do you know the strange man wasn't a guest of a resident? What in the world is a guard going to do to keep out resident's own guests?
Let it go. Put up a flyer about the incident kindly suggesting you all remember to be careful about buzzing people in and go on. Keep you door locked, and perhaps refrain from opening your door in the middle of the night without looking through a peephole or calling out first.
That's like my mom's tenant complaining our area has coyotes in it an demanding the HOA do something about it. My mom was like WHAT on earth can they do about animals that roam naturally in the valley area behind the condo?
The tenant then tried to say the place was inhabitable and break his lease, we were like seriously? You live on the second floor! Lock your doors and stay away from any coyotes.
Haha, my other Son also manages properties and he said a lady called the office and was complaining about all the noise the birds were making outside her apartment. He asked her what she suggested and she said "Can't you do something to get rid of them ?" He told her he could, but more would be back the very next day.
What? I love the noises birds make in the morning!
Maybe he should have suggested earplugs lol.
