I put an offer on a home I was interested in for 10% lower then offer price

I told my agent what the max I would probably want to pay for it

When I spoke with her she apparently told the sellers agent this price and then they gave a counter offer at around 10k higher then my max price

Is this normal? I was actually hoping to not pay that price at all and i'm not even sure if it is worth it

For now i'm just sticking with my original offer and a bit ticked off that my agent told the sellers agent this information. Should I go with a new agent due to this issue?

What makes you think she told them?

You've signed a contract with your agent. What does it say about cancellation?

ok so how do I do that in a nice way (fire her) and 2 what should I do about the home I currently have the offer on? I do like it alot but after doing more research on the comps I don't think I want to move too much from my initial offer, considering the seller now knows what I want to pay at max should I just walk away from this house?

Tell her that she violated your trust by revealing confidential information to the other party and you can no longer work with her. And then move on.

I'm not a Realtor, but maybe one could answer a question for me: How the heck was an offer made and no buyer/agent contract signed?

Before I made the offer she asked me to sign a buyers agent contract as part of the paperwork but I declined to sign it because I didnt want to be locked in to her services if something like this happened, I didn't know her well enough yet but she was the one who happened to show me this house and I really liked the house
