We have a contract on a house that we made before it went on the market. It came on as "contingent: inspection" on the real MLS (for professionals) and then "pending" well over a week ago. But it listed as "active" on the consumer sites, came on as active and hasn't changed.
I'm just curious as to why? Are they fishing for other buyers to sell other homes to? Or is it really just very slow to catch up?
Depending on how the data gets to consumer sites will determine how it is updated. Some agents still have to manually change data on Zillow so then it is a matter of remembering and/or trying to get buyers to call them.
I think it's mostly where they get the data and how frequently it's updated. The site I use in my area is directly linked to MLS and refreshes every 15 minutes. I bought new construction so it wasn't on there, but when the house I sold went under contract, my realtor told me when she changed the listing and a few minutes later, it showed up as "under contract" on the public site.
