To be more specific there is a high rise luxury condo development near me where prices can range anywhere from 0.5 million to 10 million for a penthouse unit. Several local sports stars even have homes here. Anyway, if I come off the street to view or get more information about the development will they do a credit check first or at the very least ask to see my drivers license? I would imagine they might leave me with some literature instead of showing me a model unit. Your thoughts....

They will hold your drivers licence as a safety check for the agent showing the property. They do this to me and I'm a woman with kids tagging along being shown a place by another woman, so I bet they do it for everyone.

Half a million to a million is considered affordable here, not luxury, but once you get to 2-3 million it's considered luxury, but most will be shown without a credit check with ID copied first.

I can also tell you that when looking at high end cars, such as Lamborghini or Ferrari they will do a credit check prior to letting you take a test drive.

Half a mil to TEN million. Not one. Pretty sure 10 mil for a condo is going to settle outside the affordable range, unless that price is in pesos

Most luxury listing agents ($3M+) will require the buyer to be pre-approved or show proof of funds before showing the home. They really don't want tourists, just people who could buy the home if they like it.
