I don't have a house yet. If the appraisal goes thru the closing will be on March 31st and my last day renting will be 31st. I already gave notice so if this home does not work out, same as the last one in December it's time to move on.

We sold our house, took what we needed with us, stored the rest. Rented an apartment while we looked for a new house. Bought the house near the end of our lease - about a 3 week overlap - and moved in, having our stored stuff delivered.

We moved 1k miles away from KY to FL. Renting was a good choice as we learned our new area.

I wish you the best of luck and a smooth closing!

Thanks, I actually got great news yesterday that the property appraised for a little more than the selling price. Now I start Underwriting hell. The loan officer already mentioned that I need to explain how the cash deposits when I closed one account and went into the other one happened. And it has nothing to do with the earnest money, that was from another direct deposit so I keep my fingers crossed and I passed the biggest hurdle that prevented my home purchase last time.

Default Think ahead

How did you handle moving from your old home to the new house?

Teleportation of self and furnishings.
Highly recommended.
Smooth, quick, no damage.
Even the cats were happy. But, they did arrange for the service as they are superior beings.

For those without cats to make the appropriate arrangements, moving companies have been known to be of assistance.

Neighbors moved in PODs (Portable On Demand storage). The first one they loaded up when they were clearing out their home to stage it. The second was loaded right before closing.

They may have spent a night at her sister's place. Not sure.
