Thank you for your advice on my listing btw, the house sold quickly (and yes, to Asians, as some said would happen LOL).

There's a house I like. I think it's a gem. Low price per square footage in a small town with minimal inventory. My spouse is concerned by the interior. Would you look past this? Do you think there could be heat/moisture issues? This is northern Canada, the weather is normally below 20c for 6-8 months per year.

If you throw all these weird plants out and the ugly furniture, it will probably look very pretty! The kitchen furniture looks nice.

Even if you remove all that clutter (and there's a lot of it!), it still looks like a small house. The small size of the kitchen would probably make it not okay for me.

You are buying the house, not the plants and funky decorating...lol. The realtor should have told the sellers to ditch some of the plants....they can't possibly help the sale of the house.

Are you buying the house furnished? If not, I don't see any problems here.
The listing agent should have asked the sellers to minimize their personal stuff so buyers focus on the house and not the decorations, but I see nothing that would indicate heat or moisture problems.

Why would you think there might be heat or moisture problems?

I dislike houses where the ceiling is also the roof. I prefer the buffer of an attic space.

I don't think heat or moisture either! But this is a frozen wasteland near the Arctic circle, I can't imagine how you would keep all the plants alive without constantly misting/watering and cranking the heat. Unless it's fake. I don't know if that would affect it or not.

The bathrooms, bedrooms, etc are all even worse. Nothing outside of course. It would all die.

The plants are a non-issue.

The only thing I see is high open ceilings which might be a problem in a very cold climate. How expensive are the heating bills in the house?

Plus, who's going to get on a tall ladder and paint those white walls??

That's a good point. Our viewings are booked for Monday, so I'm not sure the details yet. Will keep that in mind as utilities are already high here.
