Depends on what form you get. The easy cheap version most home inspectors can do is the dye test for normally around 150k in the SC Midlands. The better, more thorough version is a septic company digging up the lid and looking in it. Usually 300-500 here. I wouldn't think prices would vary much in the upstate.

Inspection is around $400-$450 here in CT. Inspectors recommend checking the system before any pump if needed. Pumping would be about another $300 to do.

Oddly, last year, my buyer had the tank inspected but not pumped. We paid for the pumping afterwards.
When we brought the house, we paid for the inspection and pumping. I thought it was odd when our buyer didn't pay for the pumping, but $250 it wasn't enough to break the sale.
