Instead of Closing. This sucks big-time. I thought I would pay upgrades as part of the closing cost. That's how I know thing work but this one is crazy.

Has to be a new home.

100% standard. If you don't close, the builder will have to have a fire sale on your purple bath tile. That option money offsets the firesale loss.

Yes new home. So that's the standard? My prior new construction home was 15 years ago and I forgot what I did then.
