I can't give you any more reputation thumbs ups... yes I saw it.

I'll report back and let you all know how this goes. If anything, it's a good lesson for at least someone else out there at some point...
I'm eager to find out how this ends. My guess is pushy buyers were pushy with their agent, who submitted the invalid response despite knowing better, for fear of losing client.
"Worst thing that can happen is they say no, they can't / won't do that, but it needs to look like I'm trying for my client!"
Our house is under contract, a home inspection was performed last week. Today we received the objections document but it has nothing to do with what currently exists on the property.
Our house is on a septic system. It has recently passed tank, pump and leach field inspections (required by the county so the use permit can be transferred to the new owner).
On the Inspection Objection document, the potential buyers are asking for us to allow some money back to them because at some point in the future they want to add more bedrooms and bathrooms in the currently unfinished basement. They obviously will need a larger leach field when they build it (if they do it).
Can someone explain to me what this has to do with an inspection? The current system is completely operational and has passed all inspections; it is the correct size/capacity for the current 3 bed/3bath home as it exists right now.
Your thoughts/comments/ideas on how to deal with this would be much appreciated please.
Absolutely nothing. It’s simply a tactic to get you to drop the price. Way I see it is here is what I’m selling for x price. Once you buy it YOU can do whatever you want with it
So it is done. We offered them a small credit in return for agreeing, in the amended contract, to drop any attempts at further negotiations of any kind whether they relate to inspections, appraisal or loan objections... otherwise they forfeit their earnest money ($10K) to us. They signed off on it at 10 p.m. last night.
Now, before you all pull your hair thinking we caved... we did this because we discovered at the last possible minute last night that they were also waiting on the water quality tests from the well and gave themselves an extended time window; which was buried further down in the document and not pointed out to us by our agent. We discovered it on our own. Though our filtered water is perfectly drinkable and is very clean (1,000' ft. deep), it is loaded with minerals and is extremely soft. This shuts down any future opportunity to complain or use as an excuse about the well water – we know we have been extorted – but it was the easiest path to shut this crap down permanently.
I just hate the house selling process with a passion now.
