I agree with Diana that a seat near the box of booties is a good idea. I would even say it is essential. You don't want someone stumbling and possibly slipping or falling down while trying to don the booties.
Although I notice boxes of booties at the door of open houses, one complaint is that those booties are seldom new, and are in fact, often torn at the sides or soiled. So make sure they are clean, if not new, and new is better!
Around here I notice that only about half the people wear the booties. Many walk about barefoot. I don't see how sweaty, bare feet is an improvement over dry shoe soles.
In our case, when we were actively seeking a second house, we took our own booties to wear, even before it became common for RE agents began leaving a box at the door.
If someone is obviously disabled, perhaps walking unsteadily and/or using a cane, they don't need to remove their shoes or wear booties.
