The newest addition of Apple watches, known as apple watch 5 will have a decibel reader that will enable the owner of the watch to monitor decibel levels. The watch is coming out next month.

There is a site called Sound Score that measures the general noise level of an address, which would include jet noise.

my runway is north-south. i am 11 miles east of the airport. a large commercial jet just went over my house. I'm guessing the big thunderstorm/lightning cloud right at the airport had something to do about it, but I'm not positive.

In Sioux falls SD military jets take off in all 4 directions almost daily. I'd imagine its something people get used to as I never hear people complain that much about it. Its usually 1-4 pm on weekdays though. Still they are quite loud compared to conventional jets.
