We pay twice a year. The amount varies due to mileages (added taxes voters impose on themselves for extra funding (roads, schools, safety, bike trails, etc.). It works out to a little over 1% of the value of the house per year.

I sometimes wonder if were able to completely ignore him/her, if they'd just literally go away and not come back. SO far, we haven't been able to keep our finger in the dyke.
We pay about 1% of the actual value of the house. Once a year. Moved a couple years ago from a nearby city and different school district. Paid a little less than 2% there. And our water bill is about 75% of what we were paying.
Where we live, property taxes are public information on the county assessor's website. We do get a partial exemption for being senior citizens, but that is funded on a year to year basis by the state legislature.
