I like how so many homes for sale in New Mexico have pictures just looking at the sky. And it's usually sunset.
I suppose it's a case of "if you got it, flaunt it".
Personally, I have no objections to a "townhouse" style of shared walls. . . as long as the common walls are engineered to BLOCK SOUND TRANSMISSION.
The inherent advantages of shared walls - less materials - reduced thermal losses - can be overshadowed by noisy neighbors.
My favorite village design is a modernized version of the 1890s urban block, where the first level is reserved for enterprise and upstairs are the apartments / townhouses. Extend this design into a large ring. Repeat. Results in a large central park, two ring buildings and a ring street. You have access to urban and rural benefits, shopping, entertainment, etc.
Reduces the need for an automobile, too.
I lived in a townhouse in a 4 unit building. There was a cinderblock wall between each unit that extended into the roof line. A bomb could have gone off next door and we would not have heard it. When built properly they are just fine.
The point is, if I think you're shucking and jiving with your real estate listing photos, I'm out of there.
All that first photo needed was some photoshopped tall trees blocking the two units on either side of it, to conform to modern real estate marketeering practice.
So just an update, on Redfin, which had the interior shot first, I got 6 saves out of 554 views (1%).
Zillow, which had the exterior shot first, due to their glitch not using MLS, had 38 saves and 1354 views (2.8%).
Thinking of a compromise collage shot as the first?
I have pulled into neighborhoods and or up to houses and based on what I saw, I went no further as in ever walked into some.
I want exterior photos first.

This made me laugh. So true!
