My in-laws were reducing their selling price after discussing it with their agent Tuesday afternoon. It’s now Friday morning and it still hasn’t been lowered. Apparently their agent said “it takes a couple of days”.

Is this accurate?

Local rules rule.
In my MLS, we have to have revisions updated within 48 hours of getting signatures.
Are they looking at an IDX feed, or something like Realtor.com or Zillow?

I was looking at Zillow, which I know isn’t instant but is what many people use when searching for a home.

Just wanted an idea if what they were experiencing was reasonable, and it sounds from your post that it is - but if not done by Monday it’s taking too long. Thanks.

Edit - checked another site and it seems like it’s reflecting now, and will probably propagate through to the rest today. What’s odd is that for one site it changed on 7/29 (Wednesday) but maybe MLS still needs updating.

Well, MLS should be the first update, and other sites feed from there.
Some agents or their admins just don't work weekends, but this is not a weekend update, so that is not the issue.

Not to be a conspiracist-monger, but some agents may hold off on posting lower prices so they can shop the new price around and try to grab both sides of the deal.

Possibly. My point to them was to get it changed before the weekend so they didn’t lose another week’s worth of DOM. They’re at 60 days now.
