I'm currently under contract to purchase some raw rural land in the state of GA. I received the sellers disclosure today and the question "Are there any governmental allotments committed?" is checked YES. I asked my realtor about it, she said the attorney will pull the title which will give us more details.
I can't seem to find any details online about what this question means. Anyone know?
Government allotment and land makes me think of crops, but we don't have that designation here so I'm not sure what that means in GA. Are there crops on the land?

Interesting. No there are no crops, but the land is zoned A1.

My guess is that it has to do with some government allotment for the growing of some crop such as tobacco or cotton. I have my doubts as to whether the deed to the property would include such information since it is subject to change on a frequent basis. As Diana said, ask your realtor to check with the listing realtor who can check with the seller.
This disclosure form (I looked it up) is a little on the brief side. On our disclosures, if you answered yes to a question like this, you'd usually have to also provide an explanation.
this looks like a Georgia specific question on the disclosure form, so you may want to try asking on the Georgia forum and/or have the thread name changed on this thread to indicate this is specific to Georgia
But I don't know why your agent wouldn't know what the question refers to (not specifically what is committed on this particular property but the question in general) because they've presumably had many clients who had to complete this form and answer this question
I read something about this after posting the question and was wondering the same thing.
The land is near an area that did have an Native American village at some point in history.
Confused at how it would apply, since my understanding is that the US gov't owns the allotted land. The ancestors of the tribes have fractional rights to the land. How could a private entity own land that the gov't already owns? Me shrugs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Attorney & realtor will get clarification on this before closing.
