What do you think has changed?
This outcome signifys nothing. Honestly, not much is going to change. The change is more of a theoretical one, rather than a practical one.
You do realize that this lawsuit was about the VOW, not the IDX which is what most real estate agents use nowadays. IDX policies were unaffected by the lawsuit or settlement.
Oh. So the article was BS.
I'm still laughing because of people shopping online and asking me about listings that sold over 6 months to a year ago. The info floating around on the web is often times so backed up it's ridiculous.
Funny that only realtors react like this to the article.......the rest of us is happy
I have an alternative business model and am not a traditional agent. I just like meaningful change. I don't know how many companies still use VOW, but it can't be a lot.
I just like to be honest about the real implications. It will impact most consumers in no way shape or form, IMHO.
I am sure there are other agents that may disagree with me...so one vote for little to no impact from a non-traditional agent.
After I commented last I read my Inman News and they had a really good summary of the outcomes of this settlement, I thought. I think it explains it really well.

I welcome the "online" brokers. It doesn't take long before the clientele recognizes why they cost less. This is a service business, not an information business (although having the information is paramount). I'd love to see an online brokerage show a 20 acre piece of ground to someone and be able to conclude a sale.

You don't even have a clue what it means do you?
