We just went up for sale 2 days ago and I saw on fsbo.com that you can pay about $400 and be listed on mls-you just have to have posted for the realtors how much you will pay in commission if an agent brings your buyer-they recommend between 2%-3%. Has anyone used this or had experience with it?

A friend of mine used it and was happy with they but took their home off the market since the home value was so much down and they didn't have to sell and would lose so much money so they decided to wait. They bought a new construction from an investor so already paid more than the would have paid to they builder and started to do many upgrades and would never gotten what they had paid back...

Make sure it's your local MLS and not one that is irrelevant. You should also be aware that in all likelihood you'll have to sign an exclusive right to sell which means you'll be agent represented.

fsbo.com and other web sites like that refer you to a local agent to put you on the local MLS typically. I agree with Brandon that you want to make sure you are on a LOCAL MLS.

For example here in Oregon we have 5. I know of people that have a home here local to Salem, but are on the Portland MLS. There is no way for agents to know about these homes, which is the point of the MLS.
