We went apple picking and had a TON of apples so I looked up some apple recipes and found this one..so easy and good!! I'm all about simple cooking

Easy Apple Crisp

* 8 apples peeled and cored
* 1 cup of water
* 1/2 cup of melted butter
* one box of White Cake Mix
* 1 cup brown sugar
* 1-2 tablespoons of cinnamon

Slice apples and spread evenly over a baking pan, pour 1 cup of water over apples.

In a large bowl mix together melted butter, cake mix, brown sugar and cinnamon. Mix will be crumbly. Pour mix over apples and bake uncovered for 50 min at 350

I sure do miss apple picking. I grew up in Upstate NY and we did it every fall. The fresh apple cider was the best. Oh and the candied apples too.

If you're going to even think about using frozen apples, you might as well just get your apple crisp from a restaurant. There's nothing easier than that.

The crisp recipe I use is pretty easy (all crisp recipes are easy - it's a very uncomplicated dessert).

Alternate and layer cored and peeled granny smith and mcintosh slices on a pie plate (around 6 small apples for a 9-inch plate). Squeeze a wedge of lemon over all this.

In a bowl, mix a cup of whole or quick-oats, around 1/4 cup flour, 1/3 stick of melted butter, 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, a capful of vanilla flavoring, and a heaping tablespoon of ground cinnamon. Mix til it's moist but clumpy.

Press the contents of the bowl over the apple-filled pie plate.

Bake at 325 for around a half hour.

Serve warm.
