Which do you prefer?
Cheesy grits or a cheesy grits casserole?
I usually add some cream cheese and sharp cheddar to my real grits recipe. ..bUT have never done a casserole, which just adds 2 eggs and an oven bake?

How do you prefer yours?

I have never had a grits casserole. Does it end up like cornbread?

But I'm not much of a grits fan. The only reason I'd ever eat them is because of the shrimp on top!

I really like those shrimp on the top. I'd probably go for the casserole because I really don't like grits, don't like the texture. A couple of eggs and an herb would make it palatable to me.

We love grits! Never had a grits casserole; do the grits 'seize' up and become a base of sorts in a casserole? Growing up, Grits are supposed to be a side that takes on a topping, like one would serve over rice or pasta per my family. Am eager to hear about your recipe, if you would share. Thanks.

Cheesy grits with lots of butter. never had it as a casserole. In fact there is a diner in Delaware that makes really good grits.

Cheesy Grits Casserole Recipe - Billy Reid | Food & Wine I used.
We didn't care for it.

I'll stick with the other way better.
I added 2 tbs cream cheese and pepper jack shredded cheese along with butter, salt and pepper.
