yes, you have to admire anyone that has the ability to build a name for themselves and make it stick.

I’ve lately been a regular Aretha Frankenstein pancake mix user, which uses buttermilk, so I am always looking for other uses for buttermilk now.

Ok so I had some butter milk leftover from making my Irish soda bread. I added buttermilk to the recipe. What difference! Like it better this way. Buttermilk is hard to find after St. Patrick's is over. Has anyone tried the powdered version?

I haven't experienced stores not stocking buttermilk year round.

I posted this in another thread, and it’s our favorite dressing now.

Ina Garten Buttermilk Dressing

3 green onions
2 cloves garlic
2 T lemon juice
1 T olive oil
1 1/2 T Dijon
2 1/2 t salt
1 t pepper
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup fresh basil, or 1 t. dry

Whisk in a food processor until blended. Chill to blend flavors.

Where are you located? Never had a problem finding buttermilk here. I use it for Ranch dressing (Hidden Valley Buttermilk packet, 1 cup buttermilk, 1/2 cup mayo, 1/2 cup sour cream), pancakes, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, pork tenderloin sandwiches ...

Long Island NY. Fresh buttermilk only seems to be available in the month of March.

No Idea LOL. There's plenty of places that make fried chicken to go. I might not be looking hard enough but the place I go shopping every week only seems to carry it during the month of March. I can research further if needed.
