Just to add, I enjoy Egg Nog, but found that it has not been so great or as authentic as I recall having. If anyone has a suggestion for, let me know.

Buy something local if there's a brand near you. We have Lewes Dairy eggnog and it's the best I've had in years: not as thick as glue, not too sweet, very fresh, very expensive.

I made a mincemeat pie, took it to work to share because a lot of my co-workers have never tasted one.

This is great advice. We discovered a (fairly) local dairy a few years ago (Broguiere's), and their eggnog and chocolate milk are so much better than we can purchase at a store. Then again, I think I did see their eggnog at a Bristol Farms store several years ago.

Our desserts:
  • homemade apple pie
  • buttery Christmas cut-out cookies with almond icing (decorated with sprinkles, etc.)
  • See's Candy
  • homemade berry pie (made with thawed Kirkland 3-Berry Blend, which are the best for this kind of pie)

Merry Christmas, everyone!
