Many years ago we had hamburgers available with a Greek slaw on them that was to really live for. What I would give for that recipe. The diner is not more and the recipe with it I'm afraid. I really would like a Greek slaw recipe. It would be so good on any type of BBQ or fish sandwich. This was a family recipe not one out of a dollar cookbook. Not knocking cookbooks it's just this much have been guarded like the Colonials secret 11.

Key West Slaw

cabbage
mayo- big glob
buttermilk- just a little bit
key lime juice-just a tad(lemon will do)
sugar- just a tad

Get the mayo and buttermilk and cabbage to the right consistency
then add lime juice and sugar to taste.
My family begs for this all the time.

I'm going to try this without the yogurt. I knew it had mustard in it as it was yellow and had some zip to it.

I make a blue cheese cole slaw very similar to the previous post but I add fresh, diced tomatoes or craisons (sp?) depending on my mood.

I'm a decent cook, but I have never been able to make cold slaw taste like anything other than cabbage and mayonnaise. Just can't do it.

I have a feeling you are far more than just a "decent" cook!

I have never been good at cole slaw or (don't laugh) potato salad. I can fix really good mashed potatoes, potato casseroles, cooked cabbage, etc....but I never have been satisfied with my cole slaw or potato salad - therefore I always volunteer to make something else at any kind of gathering!

OK. Just one little tip really 2 if you count them as individuals. I like pickled jalapeno relish (plus a few slices of the pickle peppers) in mine along with real bacon bits. We do not use any egg either. I've never cared for boiled eggs. Only deviled eggs. I got tired of picking shells out of my teeth from egg style at family gatherings and have learned to dip into other bowls. I'm assuming you already use a tad or two of some bright yellow mustard? Line the bowl with some deviled egg halves and lets eat.
