I was talking to a friend and she was telling me about her grandaughter's birthday party plans. My friend was reading some punch recipes and I told her I would post on here to get some more ideas. The main theme is a pink cake for a 6 year old girl. Thanks everyone in advance.

Whatever you choose, dry ice in the bowl is always a big hit.

Make a Shirley Temple Punch

Shirley Temple Punch
2 liters lime-lemon flavored soda
Grenadine (non-alcoholic) <--or Maraschino cherry syrup
Maraschino cherries

Mix 6oz of grenadine with 2 liter of soda, and add cherries.

Both ideas sound good! I know the closest Publix to her carries dry ice. The Shirley Temple Punch sounds wonderful and would look so pretty with the girl's cake.

One note of caution, don't put too much in the bowl, it will freeze it! lol

Here's a guide.

Texdav, thank you! You read my mind. We were looking for one with almond extract, possibly for this party and definitely for another one.

Why not just pink Cool-Aid?

One word of caution, a lot of young children don't like the taste of carbonated soda (my kids always described it as too spicy). Even mixed with juice, it can still pack a "punch" for their young palettes. At birthday parties, I've always seen some kind of juice combo or straight juice instead. Kool-Aid would work too, or a mild pink lemonaide. Good luck!

Keep it simple. Kids think pink lemonade is the coolest thing. Toss in some maraschino cherries, and they'll be in heaven.
