Thursday, is the dog in the second link the same as the rest? The pup in the second link is too cute
The third picture, the face is large and not so good. What are handsome dogs that are large and tall?
Besides, I bet the mastiff also needs heavy maintenance, insurance and vet costs?
Yes, the pup is the same as the other dogs, it's just as a puppy they are already the size of a German Shepard. I was just teasing ya about getting a mastiff - they are HUGE dogs. If it got injured you'd need to get a crane or airlift it to the vet.
I have mutts myself, of course, but a good medium/large low maintenance dog that looks like it has attitude are Boxers. Shepards and Goldens are great dogs but they often have hip problem in their older stage of life. Boxers are pretty solid, compact and can be trained relatively easy. They are loving dogs, but look like they could have an attitude. They are a small version of a mastiff. As far as maintenance you just hose em down and trim their nails...stay clear of long haired dogs.
Go to this non-profit site and type in Dog, Breed and your zip code with maybe 50 miles and it will give you a list with a photo of all the rescue Boxers in your area. You just click on them to see a bigger picture and a description. These are not breeders but non-profit rescue groups and Humane Societies. Pet adoption: Want a dog or cat? Adopt a pet on Petfinder If you want to try another breed just type the new one in.
Oh, and Antlered, if you pay a fee to one of these non-profit sites for the dog it's tax deductible as a non-profit charitable donation. Yes, folks, many people have tried for years to write their animals off on their taxes and I actually found a way.
I'm so used to seeing the same people here, with the ebb and flow of newbies, that it's a nice change when a long-time lurker shows up. I've never been one for shutting up on a message board, and it fascinates me how many people just watch and don't say anything.
Good disposition. I had a client years ago who had one.
