First of all I find it annoying because its off topic to get into the semantics of the stage of the disease. You ask someone if they have HIV/AIDS and they say no, who is at fault there? The liar or the lied to? That is what this post is about.

You know..relationships in the relationship forum.

But diseases do evolve otherwise there would not be all the subtypes. FACT

Not crackpot.

TO assume the guy was engaged in risky behavior everywhere is crackpot.

You don't know if the person has HIV or AIDS with the free tests were were doing. They get a positive or negative for anti-bodies. The details of the stage of the disease are in the follow up blood work with the doctor.

I posted the link to the wiki because I thought it was interesting. If you want the latest you should go the the CDC webites. NOTwellness whatever.

"AIDS is the late stage of HIV infection, when a person’s immune system is severely damaged and has difficulty fighting diseases and certain cancers"

If you want to discuss AIDs or HIV take it to the Health forum. This is not the correct forum to discuss how you get HIV or Aids.

Read the original post and comment. Keep it PG13 or your post will be deleted and if you hijack the thread you will receive an infraction

It's interesting that they actually convicted her. A ton of common people are knowingly infecting each other with HIV, hep B, and hep C on a daily basis. They usually know who and where they got it from, but few perpetrators are brought to trial over it.

Lots of sad, sad stories of one-night drunken encounters with a shady character...

The 1/500 statistic is kind of meaningless. If the guy had unprotected sex with her during that time of the month I'm sure the rate of infection would be pretty high.

Maybe she was on medications and thought that since her viral load was low she would have a low risk of spreading it... WRONG!
