After 10 years of a great marriage, my wife is still a juicy steak. In my case I think this is partly because she is not the one and only steak that I must eat day after day after day. In our marriage (it's an open marriage) the option for variety keeps all the steaks spicy and delicious. I never have to settle for hamburger. For reasons that I cannot fully explain, my love for my girlfriend actually intensifies the love I feel for my wife.

I think it might have something to do with evolving together over time as individuals. Love adds depth and vigor to our lives. The love I have for my girlfriend is no exception. I am a better person because of my girlfriend, and my wife appreciates me as the evolving person that I am. Her love for me can grow deeper because I am deeper and more alive. The same idea works in reverse. The "new relationship energy" that my wife enjoys with her boyfriends makes her sparkle. She's happy and vibrant and that make me happy. We live completely without fear of losing one another, and I think this complete absence of fear/jealousy allows us to express ourselves more fully and more faithfully - and this, in turn, makes it easier for us to continuously fall more and more in love without ever getting sexually bored.

If you really ended up with the right person for you, I imagine it wouldn't be that difficult to keep that fire going.

It may just be me, but a well-made hamburger can be just as good as a well-made steak. And it beats being hungry.

The steak would have to be quite rare - almost tartare - to get me over my burned-burger addiction...and of course, burgers have nice buns, too. Lay them down in a bed of lettuce, add some special sauce and voilà!
