My old pappy was pretty much a culprit like you. He learned some computer skills and would often try to find hidden jpeg and mpg files on my computer.
But the real winner was my brother who was a computer whiz kid like I was and would find my collection and use them as his hedge to blackmail me.
So I wrote this massive C++ code which will, on a daily basis, rename the file extensions to dll's and other weird file name and scatter them around in several weird folders like Windows\win32 and all kinds of system folders, and even encrypt the files in the process. Coz some photo softwares will still be able to display the preview. ACDSee is one such dangerous software and I kept on improvising code to the point that it was simply undiscoverable
Ah, the good old days. I even scheduled it like the unix crons where it would run every day and change the encryption sequence. Any time I needed them decoded, I'll turn on a switch and voila. It was that convenient.
