If your friend is getting laid, there is nothing on earth that you can do to bring him back right now. Unless you want to go get a sex change and immediately call your buddy to come break you in. Short of that, nothing else will work.
(...and even then, it's a toss up if he'll even want to be with a guy who just turned into a girl. )
so you ppl mean to tell me antiquing is an acceptable activity if you are under age 80???
Get real dude, seriously. Maybe he doesn't mind. I mean, it's antique shopping. It's not like they spent the whole day at Nordstrom. That's what is wrong with people today. No one stops and smells the roses. I'd rather take a trip to Amish country than do the same mundane crap most others do for a date (movies, bowling, dinner at Applebees ). What's wrong with your friend going off the beaten path and doing something different for a date? I've taken a couple of my lady friends out to Lancaster. Looking at antiques is kinda incidental to the trip unless you're just going to the outlets or eating at the family-style buffets. I'm 28, BTW. Far from 80.
As far as you friend being occupied, you gotta let him go. I've had several girlfriends over the past few years while my best friend had one that lasted for a few months in that span. He couldn't understand why I was always occupied with the woman because he still regarded me as a major part of his social life. In new relationships, partners tend to abandon their social circles for each other. Kinda like that new toy I would get at Christmas and neglect the others. As the novelty wore, however, I went back to playing with the other toys. Eventually he's going to come back around. So just give him time.

You don't have to be old in order to buy old stuff. You just need to have enough money and a like for genuine, old items. I wouldn't do it, but it's not like he's out there buying a used old woman. Now that would be weird.

Good grief, let your friend do what he wants to do! Antiquing can be fun (vintage shops too), especially if you have an interest in history. Don't necessarily have to buy...just look.
Personally, I'd enjoy spending a weekend in Amish country (I believe you probably mean Lancaster County, PA) staying at a B&B. I'm going to assume you're talking about an establishment run by non-Amish folk (I don't think they generally run B&B's). My experience with B&B's has been terrific, and Lancaster County, especially in the spring/summer/fall is a lovely place to spend a weekend.
Maybe I was shopping for antiques...or perhaps I even was forced to go to a fabric and yarn store? I can't seem to recall because all I ever remember is the food and sex.
