I want to date my friends sister but not sure how to go about it. He is pretty protective. Im not sure if i should ask his permissions or just go for it and let him know later if things progress.

unless he knows for a fact that you are not a player, then expect a fight. if you have ever talked about "hitting it and quitting it" with other girls, then he is not going to like you dating his sister. also be prepared to lose a friend should you and her have a bad breakup.

so what, HE knows you have done it many times in the past and can not be sure you are not doing it with her. sorry, but most guys will never allow a friend to date his sister. sure he can eventually become friends with her boyfriend, but he just can't accept one of his friends becoming her boyfriend.

if you do pursue dating her, sit him down and tell him up front about it. it will only make things worse if you try to sneak around behind his back.

My daughter has been dating her brothers bestfriend for almost 5 years. At first he couldnt stand her, she used to be mean to him and her brother..she secretly liked him, thats what I tell him. Let him know you want to ask his sister out.
Good luck and have fun

Who here has dated one of their friends sisters?
No, but I dated my own sister! Just kidding.
I can see how dating a friend's sister could go very wrong if it ended badly. If the friend thought that their sister was mistreated in some way it could very well end that friendship.
