For those of you who do not live near Philly or have not seen the news...
A fight broke out in Philly between TEEN GIRLS??????

Teen fight breaks out in Center City as cameras roll | Video | 6abc.com

These young girls are animals, and what's worse, they're going to be parents some day? Unbelievable, actually pulling out each other's hair? What kind of parents did they have?

yes, and the worst of it is, these are girls? They to will someday have children and can you imagine what kind of parents they will be? Good God?

It is so sad to see this happen....with no regard for anyone else, so self control, and yet, parents allow these girls to watch those reality shows, which dictates, it's ok to act like this?

I tell you, I saw on a show the other night how Philly Fans acted after winning a sports event? Unbelievable, they were all out in the streets and they started looting and destorying store windows, cars...etc....they were fighting....???? I couldn't believe it?

I saw the scariest girl fight one time. I was in 6th grade, and one girl dived onto another and stabbed her in the chest with a pencil! It was horrifying.

I live in a pretty calm, suburban place. I'm 43, so you know this was circa 1980.

Scared the crap outta me.

Never saw another fight quite like it in all my years of school.

I dunno. Some girls are clearly more high strung than others.

That must have been scary....
yanno, I don't ever remember anything like this going on in school or otherwise....once in a while, there would be boys fighting outside of school, however, afterwards, they'd shake hands and move on....today, it seems the girls who engage in fighting are just as bad if not worse then hard core criminals...
can you imagine being married to one of these girls and have her be the mother of your children? oyyyyy vayyyyyy

It all comes down to parenting. I'm going to go with nurture over nature on this one. Very sad.

I've always assumed that the husbands of more...ah... spirited? women were either into fighting (and making up) or liked being dominated by their partners.

Or, were spineless. Still, the idea of these feral women reproducing is a bit scary.

What does everyone mean by "these days?" When I was a kid in the 70s/80s, I saw quite a few girl fights in school. They didn't pull hair, though, they pulled each other's clothes off.

The thing is, they're not "teen girls" - they're hood rats. Big difference.

Creme, I'm surprised that you're so shocked at this; this goes on all the time, across the US, wherever teens congregate. Yes, it might be the parents' fault, but you can't disregard the changing social climate - as was mentioned, reality shows that glorify stupidity and nastiness; lack of social skills due to living on the Net; and last but not least the combat-zone living conditions that are Philly.

Have you ever listened to unedited lyrics from hard-core rap? They're enough to make ME want to go out and trash someone / someplace, so I'm not surprised that impressionable teens would be affected the same way.

Desensitization - it's the act of becoming immune to the feelings and rights of others. A pandemic catastrophe-in-the-making whose only hope of a cure lies in actions more brutal than what was shown on the video, but which will never be implemented because of the bleeding-hearts in this fair land.

As for the weaves, I see worse than that on Saturday nights in the girls' dressing room.

Ok, champs, how about this??

16 year old Antlered Chamataka gets into a hockey match fight with north Indian classmates and gets 15 stitches in all the wrangling that ensued, followed by 2 weeks of bed rest.

You guys are wimps I thrived in violence once upon a time, and I am so freaking destroyed today. Bugger me.
