Unless your name is Barney and you happen to be a fictional character on a show called How I Met Your Mother, suiting up is over doing it IMO

I prefer sweats myself in case she commences to kicking & screaming while picking her up.

I do. And a sports jacket. And a trench coat. And I am thinking I will invest in another suit soon.

Gee. I always see the guy smartly dressed in a suit and tie pick up the hot chicks. I thought the suit was some sort of status symbol.

That might depend on the culture.

Do you see them on CSI?

I recommend Hawaii Five-O.

Hmm. The suit choice could be a double edged sword. It will make a good impression on some women, and then some will think you're trying to hard. Past being fresh, clean and well groomed, I don't think it matters much. It's all in how you present YOU. Are you positive? Confident, but not arrogant? Relaxed? Some men, in the name of being "cool" in this setting put out signals as if they don't need or like women. They could care less. Most women will roll their eyes and turn their back on That Guy.

If physically you're looking as good as you can and you come across as liking and accepting yourself, happy to be where you are, some of the women in there are probably gonna hit on you.

A guy should always be sharply dressed, whether he's wearing a suit or jeans. Dress like a slob and you tell the world you're a slob. However, suits are pretty much for biz only or very swank social events.

But it really depends on the kind of place you're visiting. I mean, if it's an upscale martini bar, you should really be wearing a tailored jacket and nice slacks. If it's some dive, then jeans or khakis are the way to go.
