I am 21 yrs old and have never been on a date (not counting hanging with male friends). I also don't have a license yet (visual spatial issue caused by the disability) and have a problem speaking fluently at times. I also can barely count my own money and am at a 2nd grade level in math. Internet dating doesn't help since I'm not really photogenic. (I tried, it was hell)
I truly believe there is someone out there for everyone. It's just a matter of finding them. Everyone has their challenges to finding a mate. The best ways are through activities you enjoy, work or school or through friends. Let your friends/family know you are on the market.
It can be a numbers game or you might get lucky on a chance meeting. You never really know.
Get out and have fun now! It makes you more attractive & approachable.
I think your dyscalculia is something a girlfriend can easily help you with....there are a lot of young fellows your age looking for love, you're not alone....I don't know how severe your ehler's danlos syndrome is, but I don't see that as being a major stumbling block to your finding love...keep looking, don't give up, there are many lovely young woman out there also looking for someone, and like myrevenge said just get out there and have fun, so that you are indeed approachable..
I think the social anxiety is the only thing keeping you back...how many dates do you think people go on where they have to take a math quiz?
Internet dating isn't a great idea for a lot of people...it works for some, but nothing replaces just getting out there and meeting people. Do you work somewhere where you can meet people? If not, what about joining a big church with a singles group?
