It's a gorgeous morning here, and I feel....weird..restless. I'm at my BF's house, and my son got home from his cruise last night. I wanted to be there when he came home. And it's Easter morning, and I have an Easter basket there for him. I love my BF...but I want to be home now. This is the last day of my spring break and I have things at home I still need to do. Hmmm...think I need to stop complaining and just get my sh*t home.
It's okay, vent away. That's what this thread is for.
The great nurses are the best. The terrible ones are as worthless as **** on a boar.
My niece is a recently pinned RN and she does quite my sister in law (aunt to the good nurse) I have nothing good to say about her. Surgery for everything, everyone is sick, quick to tie on to a fad without it really being tested. Might be compatent enough but not smart enough to ST F U. I have no use for her. And she tries to throw her weight around with me again I will take her task in front of God and my brother.
My sister has lots of stories and I think its hard to know just how difficult a job like that is unless you have been there and done that. Like many jobs I suppose. As to someone sucking at something that obviously isnt limited to nursing. Hopefully you will get down the road without family fireworks. I'm sure you have seen estranged family members or experienced it yourself personally already. As I get older I see this more and more as one of lifes greatest tragedies.
Yesterday I did a face painting event in Miami Dade Cultural Arts Center. It was my second event and it lasted 7 hours. It was 7 hours of standing on my feet, painting faces, OUTSIDE in the middle of Miami heat. I felt like I was thrown into the fire, because I was painting along side of very experienced painters. I have gained so much experience from this event though.
I always thought of myself as an impatient person, but I learned that I have a lot more patience than I gave myself credit for. If I managed to paint on many wiggling faces, dealt with mothers who wanted me to paint their crying infants, painted teenagers who wanted God knows what, and negotiated with boys who couldn't make up their minds - I AM a patient person.
At the end of the day, I made really good money and enjoyed witnessing the smiley faces of kids after I would stick a mirror in their faces to see the final results. I love this.
