It looks like SC is also out of the way. Perhaps you may get lucky, too, but it doesn't look good...

Hurricane IRENE

You know, Chess, the more I look at this the more I think you should secure your house as much as you can and get the hell out of there as soon as you can! That's what I'd do at least... Take a short vacation somewhere!

Hurricane IRENE

I don't think there could be a path that could be a more direct hit...on me, my BF, my parents, and a lot of my relatives in NC. Sure wish something would blow this thing out to sea!

I can't leave my house...I just can't. My BF wanted me to come down there...but hell, he's gonna get it worse at his house I think...he's more south along the path. I'm just going to hunker down. I'm headed outside now to pick up all the stuff in the yard and put it away. I have to work tomorrow, and the rain will be coming in tomorrow night, so this is the only time I have. Back in a bit!

I hope it blows over too! I do have to say that if we were running out of our houses and towns every time there is a hurricane warning, we would have to do that like 8 times a year! The key is to be prepared.

This doesn't look like just any tropical storm, though... How many hurricanes have you been through anyway?

None. But I am around people who had been through many. Including Wilma.

The point is none of them are running out of town when there is a warning of a hurricane.
