What impact (If any) did this have on your confidence and shyness?

Oh, the impact... OK.

I waited till I was 18 for no reason other than parental consent was required for abortion, should something happen. I'm glad I did it with somebody I loved and who loved me, at least at the time. Can't say I recall any major "impact" on my personality one way or another.
