What percentage of 21 year olds have never been on a date ? (dates, girl)

How many people went through high school and college without ever once going on a single date ?

And how many 30 year olds have only been on one lunch date in their life ?

I'm just curious if anyone has any ideas about the number. I'm not looking for any advice. I just want to have an idea of how rare this is.

I'm over 21, but at that age I hadn't had a date yet. I didn't feel bad about it—I wanted to go on a date of course, but I still woke up every morning and did far more important things that needed doing.

Just my opinion obviously, with no facts to back it up, but I don't think not having an actual date all through high school is that rare at all.

Especially back in my day(you know, the olden days!). Well, maybe not that olden.

It seems rampant these days. Never had any idea how much so, till I started posting on this forum.

I feel for anyone who's lonely, for any reason.

BUT, I will say that so many young guys who post here seem so afraid of rejection that they never even take a shot; even when they get some indication that the girl may be interested. I honestly don't get it.

Do they think that rejection ever feels good, for anybody?!

It's just a shame to me; waste is always a shame to me. Waste of youth, waste of opportunities, for enrichment, for fun!

I know that life is not fair. Not everyone has a glut of opportunities. But I do have a strong suspicion that some people would rather feel sorry for themselves than stick their necks out.

I lived waaay off campus and I went to high school to study and join clubs. So no dates.


But I seldom find people who dated early and were successful unless they were looking for "Mrs." degrees.
