Where have you met people that you ended up dating? Not necessarily longterm relationships, just people that you went out with more than once on something you could classify as a "date".
Activities and mutual friends.
Met a few friends when I moved to Houston, and didn't know anyone, through the gym (martial arts not fitness) and joined groups that went for motorcycle rides. From there on it was easy, friends of friends.
EDIT: Oh **** I just read that you meant as a date, that's mostly through friends since the activities above are mostly guys.
