I know i should be served chilled. I think the cheap sake is the sake that should be served warm?
I haven't drank the stuff in 8 years since I was in Okinawa, so I can't really help you with brands, sorry. I do know you can expect to pay in the neighborhood of $30 - $70 on average for a bottle of something decent. If you want to get crazy, you can spend upwards of $300, but I'm not a sake connoisseur and I couldn't tell you if there's much of a differnce between a $30 bottle or a $100 bottle. I think there is a brand called Tokonako or something like that which is pretty good and can be bought in the states, it's on the dry side.

The price range is something I was looking for. I was hoping that around $50 would get me a decent bottle of sake.
It's going to be a gift for a friend of mine. He misses Japan, and that's all I got to go on for what to get him for Christmas LOL.
